New Physical Therapy Clinic in Sneads Ferry
January 6, 2009 (Sneads Ferry, NC) - Sneads Ferry Physical Therapy is now open and accepting new patients. This will be the second rehabilitation center owned and operated by Rusty Walker, MPT. Sneads Ferry Physical Therapy will operate as satellite clinic to his existing Hampstead Physical Therapy office. "Many of our past and current patients travel from the Sneads Ferry area, so deciding to open a second clinic here was an easy decision! It is important to us to be able to serve the greater Pender/Onslow County area and make it easier for patients to get treatment locally. Nobody should have to drive to Wilmington or Jacksonville for physical therapy!"
Walker's experience in physical therapy spans over fourteen years and includes working in orthopedics, acute care, neurological rehab, home health and pediatrics. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1992 and went on to receive his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Beginning his career as chief physical therapist at Duplin General Hospital Outpatient Services in Wallace, NC allowed him to understand the need for smaller communities to have access to local therapy and rehabilitation services. Walker successfully launched Hampstead Physical Therapy as the sole therapist. The staff has now grown to include two physical therapist and two physical therapy assistants.
Sneads Ferry Physical Therapy plans to service the area with the mission to provide superior quality therapy that produces positive outcomes for patients. Walker's philosophy is based on utilizing effective, evidence-based interventions to achieve maximum results. The new clinic is located on Highway 172 between the Dollar General and the Post Office. The state-of-the-art equipment paired with personalized treatment plans for each individual patient will both relieve pain and restore function.
